Spencer Dinwiddie remembers Michael Jordan for his ‘heroism’

Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie reflected on Michael Jordan’s legendary career ahead of the final episodes of ESPN’s “The Last Dance.”

Michael Jordan won a pair of NBA titles before Spencer Dinwiddie was born and the Bulls won their third not long after the Brooklyn Nets point guard was born. So Dinwiddie was still young when Jordan won rings four through six.

Still, Jordan had an impact on Dinwiddie, like so many who grew up loving the game of basketball.

Prior to the airing of the last two episodes of ESPN’s “The Last Dance,” the Nets point guard reflected on Jordan’s greatness with YES Network’s Michael Grady. What he remembered most was Jordan the icon:

He carried so much heroism, in a sense, that everybody wanted to be like Mike, everybody wanted to have shoes like Mike, everybody wanted to be 6-0 like Mike, everybody, in a sense, be perfect like Mike. That was the vibe that I remember.

From there, Dinwiddie saw Kobe Bryant, his childhood hero, take on a similar role in the sport, en route to his five NBA titles.
