Spencer Dinwiddie ranks LeBron James among top point guards of all time

LeBron James continues to prove he’s one of the best passers to ever play the game of basketball.

All this time off has provided Spencer Dinwiddie a greater opportunity to weigh on all things basketball on social media. The latest thing the Brooklyn Nets point guard reacted to was LeBron James’ ascension as one of the game’s best passers in postseason history.

Heading into the Western Conference Finals against the Denver Nuggets, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar needs 53 more assists to surpass legendary Utah Jazz point guard John Stockton for second-most all-time in NBA Playoffs history.

USA Today SMG’s HoopsHype pointed out the stat on Twitter, noting James is “A GUY WHO’S NOT A POINT GUARD.”

That’s where Dinwiddie came in, tweeting, “Or plot twist: He’s always been one.”

He explained his take further:

And to expand upon this point[,] even tho[ugh] I know y’all are gonna get all upset. By career accomplishments[,] the three greatest PGs ever are Magic [Johnson], LBJ [James], Steph [Curry]. Y’all can debate the order, not the list[.]

Dinwiddie also added:

My theory as to why that whole narrative started is a marketing play.

PG: had a clear [GOAT] Magic

SG: basically impossible to usurp, MJ

SF: Bird probably, but could also make a case he played the 4.

PF/C: he ain’t a big man

Which [GOAT] position title looked most attainable?
