It seems there is a growing contingency of current and former players who feel a 2019-20 NBA championship title — should there be one — would come with an asterisk. This line of thinking has developed despite the fact that up until some states started re-opening, thus leading to the league allowing players to train at team facilities, everyone in the NBA has been dealing with the same rules forced upon teams and players due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
This growing opinion on the season has made its way to Brooklyn with Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie expressing his stance on the matter on Twitter Sunday:
If a vaccine won’t be readily available for 12-18 months (could be wrong), why wouldn’t we cancel the season? Especially since any championship won this year will have a major asterisk and we don’t play for JUST the regular season. But maybe that’’s the #LastDance talking.
Despite his opinion, Dinwiddie took the time to develop another plan for a possible return:
Assuming you do go down this route and our desire not to conflict with football you could get the Christmas start date that executives have wanted for a minute and avoid the moral hazard of forcing play during peak contagion.

Almost aau/summer league style. Play games from 10am-10pm. Would dominate tv considering the lack of live sports and assuming it would be difficult to continue reality tv shows as well people at home wouldn’t have many alternatives.

Dinwiddie also had ideas about boosting fan interaction, as well, and left things off by letting the league know he has more — all they have to do is call.
