Michigan State football is reportedly showing interest in a highly-touted offensive lineman transfer from Northwestern.
Allen Trieu of 247Sports is reporting that Michigan State is one of multiple schools to reach out to Northwestern transfer offensive lineman Josh Thompson since it was reported he plans to enter the transfer portal. Michigan was the other notable school mentioned by Trieu to contact Thompson.
Thompson is from Fenton, Mich. and was expected to receive interest from both the Spartans and Wolverines. He has started 21 career games for the Wildcats and has seen action at left guard, right guard and right tackle.
Quality offensive linemen are considered one of the hardest positions to land via the transfer portal. So the battle for Thompson will be a big one, especially if it comes down to the Spartans and Wolverines.
