Southeastern Conference announces 2023-24 men’s basketball matchups

We now know which SEC teams the Gators will face this coming season, thanks to the conference’s announcement on Monday.

The Southeastern Conference announced the matchups for the league’s men’s basketball regular-season schedule on Monday, including those for the Florida Gators.

According to the official press release, the Orange and Blue will host the Alabama Crimson Tide, Arkansas Razorbacks, Auburn Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, Kentucky Wildcats, LSU Tigers, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Missouri Tigers and Vanderbilt Commodores in Todd Golden’s second season on the sidelines.

On the other hand, the team will travel to face Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, the Ole Miss Rebels, Missouri, the South Carolina Gamecocks, Tennessee Volunteers, Texas A&M Aggies and Vanderbilt.

The 2023-24 docket will be the final year without the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners, and it seems very likely that Florida faces either or even possibly both programs during the 2024-25 season.

Intraconference competition begins on Jan. 6, 2024, and runs through March 9, with each SEC team playing the other 13 teams at least once during league play. Each program will also play its three permanent opponents a second time with the remaining two games changing every year.

After the conclusion of the regular season, the SEC Tournament returns to Nashville, Tennessee, with Bridgestone Arena hosting the event from March 13-17.

Times, dates and television information will be announced in the future.
