There is an elite camp happening today, the Under Armor All-American Camp in Atlanta and there is some intel coming out on a Notre Dame recruit. Andrew Ivins of 247Sports got a chance to speak with offensive tackle Monroe Freeling of South Carolina and was told to expect a visit to South Bend in April.
The six-foot-seven-inch and 283-pound offensive tackle has an impressive offer list which includes Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan, Oregon, Texas A&M and others. There is another tidbit that Ivins had regarding Freeling’s thoughts on Notre Dame, that he “sounds like he’s big on (Harry) Hiestand.”
No doubt that is good news for the Irish, as Freeling would be coached by Hiestand if he opted for Notre Dame. Hopefully his April visit is the start of much bigger relationship.
