The Starting Cornerbacks
One position group hit nearly as hard as the offensive line is the cornerbacks. The team lost its top two interception producers, Tre Brown and Tre Norwood, to the NFL draft. Slot cornerback Brendan Radley-Hiles opted to head to the Pacific Northwest with Washington for the upcoming season. They leave a huge question mark in the secondary for Alex Grinch to figure out.
One of the more experienced returners is Woodi Washington who figures to be one of the outside cornerbacks for the season. So who will line up opposite of him? D.J. Graham looks to have a slight edge for the opposite side, but he will battle with Jaden Davis. Davis could figure to play at both left and right cornerback this year. The team does use a rotation so the more able bodies the better.
The nickel cornerback position left vacated by Radley-Hiles could come down to Jeremiah Criddell and Pat Fields. Unfortunately, Fields is dealing with an injury and will not be available so keep your eyes on incoming freshman Billy Bowman.
