The Running Backs
Oklahoma’s running back room will look different this season, and
Saturday will give some insight on what fans can expect this season.
Tennessee transfer, Eric Gray is impressing the staff with his one-cut ability and 2020 opt-out Kennedy Brooks is returning to action. Mikey Henderson switched positions from h-back to running back during the offseason and will be another threat out of the backfield. Freshman running back Seth
McGowan is suspended pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation.
Who will receive the majority of the workload?
The coaching staff has been vocal on the desire for backs to take on a
variety of roles: blocking, pass-catching, and running. All are capable of making an impact running between the tackles or elevating the screen game out of the flat. DeMarco Murray/Lincoln Riley have plenty of firepower in their arsenal and Saturday will be the first glimpse at the new unit going up against Alex Grinch’s defense. One that will certainly be intriguing to watch.
