Another day, another Oklahoma commit participating in a tradition like none other, flashing Horns Down.
After this past week’s Big 12 media days ‘Horns Down’ has become an even hotter debate topic. Big 12 coordinator of officials, Greg Burks said the Big 12 will be handing out taunting penalties to players who flash ‘Horns Down’ at Texas players.
However, the Big 12 can’t do anything about Sooners commits flashing the symbol on recruiting visits.
Four-star running back commit for the class of 2022, Gavin Sawchuk, flaunted ‘Horns Down’ in front of a Lamborghini at the Champ U BBQ Car Show last month.

The rules are still unclear if players will be allowed to use ‘Horns Down’ at the crowd if they score. When asked whether they would be allowed to throw the sign, Burks said players would “probably” not be penalized. With the controversy still brewing, I have little doubt players and fans alike will not hesitate to flash the symbol any chance they get.
