That’s more like it.
When Sony Michel took the field for the first time with the Rams last week, he was wearing No. 14, which is an odd – but perfectly legal – number for a running back. He hinted that he might be changing his number at some point, which made sense considering the Rams had to trim their roster from 80 to 53 players.
After Xavier Jones was waived with an injury designation, Michel wasted no time jumping on his old number. At practice on Wednesday, Michel wore No. 25, which is far better than 14 – for a player at his position, at least.
QB Matthew Stafford watched but did not participate in drills in portion of practice open to reporters. Stafford also mainly watched during starters pregame workout at Denver. RB Sony Michel now wearing jersey No. 25.

Michel still has to carve out a role with the Rams and get acclimated on offense before Week 1, learning the playbook and getting up to speed in L.A. He still has a full week to do just that, so expect him to be ready to go against the Bears on Sept. 12.
