After the Tennessee Titans latest loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 11, some fans are calling for the team to fire head coach Mike Vrabel.
The Titans fell to 3-7 on the year after the 34-14 beatdown, and Tennessee is a miserable 3-14 since their last road win, which came in Week 11 of last season, more than a full calendar year ago.
Tennessee’s dreadful season certainly isn’t all on Vrabel and his coaching staff, as it would be hard for any coach to be successful with this roster. However, Vrabel and Co. aren’t blameless, either.
When asked about his job security after the game, Vrabel said he isn’t thinking about that but understands why the question is being asked.
“I don’t try to concern myself with that,” Vrabel said, per Paul Kuharsky. “I’ll let you guys fire me each week, or not fire me — I apologize, I appreciate your question, I do. I will always understand that.
“We have to improve and we have to win, those are things we have to do.”
It was once unthinkable that Vrabel could be fired, but the Titans’ lack of success over the last year has opened the door for that discussion. While I believe Vrabel is safe, at least through 2024, some fans think differently.
