Tom Brady had spent his entire NFL career with the New England Patriots. He won six Super Bowl titles. He became a sports icon in New England.
But on Tuesday, it was learned that the 20-season run with the Patriots would be coming to an end.
Brady announced on social media that he would be leaving the Patriots, and reports later pointed to a likely signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The possibility of Brady leaving New England was speculated about all season, and there were plenty of signs that pointed to that move — like Brady putting his house on the market. But when it actually happened, Patriots fans were in a state of grief.
One fan actually went to the TB12 Performance & Recovery Center in Boston and left flowers in front of the door like a memorial.

I mean, he’s still alive. You don’t have to mourn his departure like that.
He’ll just be in Tampa, which will never not be weird.
