Some analysts believe Boston’s Baylor Scheierman will have a role with the team next season

The selection had some fans wondering if sharpshooting Celtics forward Sam Hauser’s days might be numbered.

The Boston Celtics used their No. 30 overall pick of the 2024 NBA draft on Creighton star shooting guard Baylor Scheierman this past Wednesday (June 26) evening. A popular pick in many a mock draft for the Celtics in this year’s cohort of incoming prospects, the selection had some fans wondering if sharpshooting Celtics forward Sam Hauser’s days might be numbered in the City of Boston.

And perhaps they might be if the Virginia alum’s success with the Celtics ultimately prices out Boston when he hits free agency. But there are some league analysts who believe that he could end up being a better player than Hauser, a point of discussion with the hosts of the CLNS Media “Bob Ryan, Jeff Goodman, and Gary Tanguay!” podcast on a recent episode.
