Softball Round-Up: Ducks jump up to No. 12 after winning series vs. Baylor Bears

Oregon Softball is off to a great start in 2022, jumping up to No. 12 in the Top-25 after an 8-1 start.

It was a busy weekend for the Oregon Ducks Athletic Department, and while a lot of attention was on the men’s and women’s basketball teams, both of whom nearly upset the No. 2 and No. 3 ranked teams in the nation, some action was taking place on the diamond as well.

In particular, the Oregon softball team jumped up to No. 12 in the national rankings after going 2-1 in their weekend series against the Baylor Bears. The Ducks lost Game 1 of the series on Saturday, 3-0, but then bounced back and took the second part of the double-header with an 8-4 victory, followed by a 10-4 win in the rubber match on Sunday.

The Ducks are now 8-1 on the season and rolling along as their look towards a tough stretch in their schedule. Coming up next weekend, Oregon will take part in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in Cathedral City, CA. Oregon opens the tournament with games against No. 17 Missouri and Northwestern.
