If you have not had the chance to watch the No. 8 Arkansas Razorbacks play softball this season, your chance is coming.
The upcoming three-game series between the Razorbacks and the No. 22 LSU Tigers at Bogle Park will be televised by the ESPN family of networks, beginning with Saturday’s opener.
In what has become common practice since the SEC Network has launched, the Southeastern Conference selects one conference series per week to highlight. Doing so causes an unusual change to the schedule. Instead of opening the series with LSU on Friday, and ending Sunday. Arkansas will face the Tigers in a three-game set beginning Saturday will cap on Monday night.
Saturday’s opener with the Tigers is set for 7:30 p.m., and Sunday’s middle tilt begins at 12 p.m.. Both games will be televised on ESPN2. First pitch of Monday’s finale is set for 6 p.m., and can be seen on SEC Network.
Arkansas enters the series at 20-5 overall, and 2-1 in SEC play following a successful opening weekend at Tennessee. The Razorbacks will be led by reigning SEC player of the week [autotag]Danielle Gibson[/autotag], who has hit five home runs and has sent 12 players home to score over the last four games.
LSU took care of Alabama in their SEC-opening series last weekend, taking two-of-three from the Crimson Tide in Baton Rouge. Most recently, LSU run-ruled Nicholls on Wednesday, 12-0. Ciara Briggs had a great day at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two RBI in the win. Ali Kilponen grabbed her tenth win of the season in the circle by striking out 11 and walking two in five innings of work.
