It was a long offseason devoid of entertaining touchdowns and blaring fog horns at Autzen Stadium.
No longer.
The Oregon Ducks kicked off the 2023 season in style on Saturday afternoon with a dominant 81-7 blowout victory over the Portland State Vikings. Early on, Oregon’s defense allowed an 8-play, 75-yard scoring drive for the Vikings, but outside of that, the defense was stout and routinely able to get off the field.
The offense, as you would expect, was elite. The Ducks put up 50 points in the first half, marking the fourth time in school history they’ve done that, and the first time since 2017 against the Oregon State Beavers.
