A Nebraska defensive lineman had an impressive debut on the wrestling mat. Nash Hutmacher defeated Wyoming’s Mason Ding in the 285 weight class.
Hutmacher was a decorated high school wrestler. He was a four-time state champion in South Dakota and finished with a career record of 166-0.
During the 2023 football season, Hutmacher started 12 games, recording a career-high 40 tackles, eight for loss, and 4.5 sacks. The Nebraska wrestling team is currently ranked No. 2 in the nation according to WIN Magazine’s Tournament Power Index.
Nebraska’s record now stands at 5-0 on the season. The Huskers will next take to the mat on Friday, January 12, when they host Iowa at the Devaney Center.
