Social media reacts to Caitlin Clark entering the WNBA Draft

Social media reacted as Caitlin Clark announced she is headed to the WNBA following this season with Iowa.

The day has come Iowa fans, or at least it’s right on the horizon. Caitlin Clark will be officially leaving Iowa at the end of the season to try her hand at professional basketball. The all-time NCAA Women’s Basketball points leader announced her intentions to enter the 2024 WNBA Draft in a post on social media Thursday.

“While this season is far from over and we have a lot more goals to achieve,” she says in her post, “it will be my last one. I am excited to be entering the 2024 WNBA Draft.”

Thus the speculation ends on whether or not Caitlin Clark would stick around Iowa City for one final season. Accomplishing nearly everything there is to accomplish, and breaking nearly every collegiate women’s basketball record under the sun, it comes as no surprise that Caitlin Clark is entering the draft. Unless the wrong name is accidentally submitted, she is going to be the top pick in the WNBA Draft. There she will join last year’s first overall pick Aliyah Boston to form a dynamic duo for Indiana.

Enjoy Clark while she’s here Hawkeyes fans, because players like her only appear once in a generation. Here are the top fan reactions to the big news.
