Social media reacts: Former Clemson DC Brent Venables and Oklahoma stun Texas with a massive win

Former Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables had the biggest win of his head coaching career.

In Brent Venables’ first season with the Oklahoma Sooners, things didn’t go as many had planned.

It was his first year as a head coach with a team he didn’t recruit, and even with all the factors, fans were not pleased with what they saw. A year later, patience proves to be a virtue as Venables just led the Sooners to one of their biggest wins in years.

On Saturday, the No.3 Texas Longhorns traveled to the No.12 Oklahoma Sooners as betting favorites and media darlings. For many, Texas was back, and this was a game to prove it. Venables and the Sooners had a different plan as they shocked the Longhorns, beating them 34-30 on their final drive of the game.

Here is a look at how Twitter/X reacted to Venables’ big win.
