Social media reacts as Caitlin Clark snags triple-double No. 15, Iowa cruises past Purdue

Triple-double No. 15! Caitlin Clark had another great game, five Hawkeyes scored in double figures and Iowa cruised past Purdue, 96-71.

Games like this one are the absolute best. We didn’t have to hold our breath, stress out for four quarters, and hope that our Hawkeyes pulled out the victory. Instead, it was a nice joyride to victory against a solid opponent, in their own sold-out arena no less.

The No. 3 Iowa Hawkeyes soared to a 96-71 victory over Purdue on Wednesday night. I know this will shock you, dear viewer, but Caitlin Clark led the way with yet another triple-double. Twenty-six points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists was her stat line for the night. In front of a capacity Mackey Arena crowd, Clark secured her 15th career triple-double.

She finished 6-of-14 from 3-point range and she also had one block and one steal.

The most refreshing thing to see was that it wasn’t just Caitlin Clark. Many naysayers out there will try and call Iowa a one-player team. While that point guard leading the charge is fantastic, she is backed by reinforcements.

Graduate guard Kate Martin, fifth-year guard Gabbie Marshall, sophomore forward Hannah Stuelke, and junior guard Sydney Affolter all reached double-digits. Affolter provided a huge 14 points off the bench, showing improvement in confidence every single week.

It was the type of win that everyone will feel good about, even the opposing fans who finally got to witness Caitlin Clark in person. Here are the best social media reactions from Wednesday night’s game.
