Caitlin Clark has won plenty of awards for her extraordinary play leading the Iowa Hawkeyes to the 2023 Final Four and the precipice of a national championship.
She swept the National Player of the Year Awards and wowed basketball and pop culture celebrities alike along the way. The 6-foot guard’s latest accolade is one of her finest, though.
Caitlin Clark was recognized as the 2023 Honda Cup Award winner and was named the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year presented by THE Collegiate Women Sports Awards.
The Honda Cup Award has been presented annually by the CWSA for the past 47 years to the top women athletes in 12 NCAA- sanctioned sports and signifies “the best of the best in collegiate athletics.” Clark was chosen by a vote of administrators from over 1,000 NCAA member schools.

Clark, representing as the finalist for women’s college basketball, topped a list of fellow finalists that represented each of the 12 NCAA women’s sports.
The West Des Moines product took the Honda Cup over the following finalists: Florida gymnast Trinity Thomas; Florida track and field athlete Jasmine Moore;Β North Carolina women’s tennis athlete Fiona Crawley; North Carolina field hockey athlete Erin Matson; Stanford women’s golfer Rose Zhang; Virginia swimming and diving athlete Kate Douglass; Texas volleyball player Logan Eggleston; UCLA soccer defender Lilly Reale; North Carolina State cross country runner Katelyn Tuohy; and Alabama softball pitcher Montana Fouts.
Alongside Clark, the other two inside the final top three were Texas’ Logan Eggleston and Stanford’s Rose Zhang.
“It’s truly a tremendous honor. And, to all these women, you guys are incredible. It could have gone to any of you. I’m just lucky to be up here in your guys’ presence and obviously my two coaches who are amazing women. We have an all-woman coaching staff. I get inspired by the best every single day, whether it’s them, whether it’s my coaches. I know my family is watching back home. Just a tremendous honor. I’m lucky to be here,” Clark said as she accepted the award.
Clark was inspired being around the rest of the finalists for the 2023 Honda Cup.
“It makes me want to watch and support them even more. If you’re not watching women’s sports, you’re truly missing out. Now is the time to tune in, as the sky’s the limit for women’s sports,” Clark said of her fellow finalists.
