He was wrong.

Sports are emotional and passionate. Human beings are emotional and passionate. Winning is supposed to feel great. Losing is supposed to hurt, at least among people who really care about winning.

Caleb Williams cares a lot about winning. It’s why he was so torn up after USC lost. Playing well mattered less than helping his team win. Williams fell short even though he did everything he could and led the Trojans to 42 points.
