Head coach Deion Sanders has the No. 18 Colorado Buffaloes (2-0) on top of the college football world. In addition to a pair of emphatic wins over TCU and Nebraska, Shedeur Sanders is playing like one of the best quarterbacks in the country. At the same time, two-way phenom Travis Hunter continues to play himself into the Heisman conversation.
The Buffaloes’ success is a testament to what Deion Sanders is building in Boulder. But would he find the same success with the level of resources in, say, College Station? Yes, humor us for a brief moment.
Saturday Down South conceptualized the thought of Sanders as head coach of Texas A&M. Given the program’s storied history, its name, image, and likeness licensing resources, and the level of recruiting talent in Texas; it begs the question of how formidable of a football program Sanders could build in Aggieland.
Can you imagine Deion recruiting as the head coach for Texas A&M…

Now, let’s give credit where credit is due, at least on the recruiting front. Jimbo Fisher put together the best recruiting class of all time during the 2022 cycle and is on the heels of putting together another top 10 class in 2024. While some debate Fisher’s level of success in the win column, you can’t take away his recruiting prowess.
Still, Primetime in Aggieland? With Shedeur Sanders lining up at quarterback? Travis Hunter donning the Maroon and White alongside Evan Stewart? It’s at least worth imagining, right?
Here are a few of the best responses to the thought of Deion Sanders being the head coach of Texas A&M, which naturally exists in some alternate reality.
