Slow motion video of Tyler Rogers’ submariner rising slider shows how impossible it is to hit

This looks IMPOSSIBLE to hit.

This is some sorcery right here, although we know that with a submarine pitcher like the San Francisco Giants’ Tyler Rogers, his pitches are going to do wild things.

We saw that on Monday, thanks to a video from @PitchingNinja. It’s two angles of a 74 MPH slider from Rogers, a pitch that just starts at the spikes and keeps rising … and rising … and rising, until Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Ketel Marte flails at it wildly and misses.
