The Philadelphia 76ers have put some faith in one of their younger guys as they move forward with the 2021-22 season. In a season where things have been up and down and guys have been in and out of the lineup, the team is making a move to guarantee a guy is on the roster.
Paul Reed had his $1.5 million contract guaranteed for 2022 ahead of the deadline to either make it guaranteed or waive him. Reed is currently in the health and safety protocols, but he has shown off some flashes in this current season despite averaging only 2.3 points and 2.4 rebounds in his limited minutes.
The Philadelphia 76ers plan to keep Paul Reed and fully guarantee his contract for this season, league sources told @hoopshype.

Reed was the G League MVP and the G League Rookie of the Year in 2021 and he has shown some nice potential in the NBA on the defensive end, but he still does need to show development in other areas. The Sixers guaranteeing his deal gives him the opportunity to do so in Philadelphia.
