New York Knicks rookies Obi Toppin and Immanuel Quickley will each sit on Saturday night at home versus the Philadelphia 76ers, according to Ian Begley of SNY.
Toppin suffered a calf injury during the season opener on Wednesday against the Indiana Pacers. He produced nine points, three rebounds and two blocks in 24 minutes of work during the 121-107 loss. The injury doesn’t appear to be too serious as he was moving around better on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Quickley was diagnosed with a hip pointer during that game after leaving in the first half. The injury appeared to be non-contact as he came up slow after attempting to go after a rebound. He logged 12 minutes prior to suffering the injury, recording five points.
The status of the two for Sunday versus the Milwaukee Bucks is not known.
Obi Toppin (calf) will be out tonight against Philly. He was moving around better today, per Tom Thibodeau. Toppin and Immanuel Quickley's statuses for tomorrow against MIL are unclear.
