Sixers’ Tyrese Maxey questionable vs. Warriors, misses morning shootaround

Philadelphia 76ers star Tyrese Maxey is listed as questionable against the Golden State Warriors and he missed morning shootaround.

PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia 76ers are dealing with a number of injuries and ailments as the 2023-24 season passes. While Joel Embiid will miss at least a month after surgery to repair a meniscus injury in his left knee, the Sixers now face the possibility of playing without Tyrese Maxey.

The first time All-Star is listed as questionable against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday due to an illness. Maxey also missed the Sixers’ road game against the Warriors in late January, a 119-107 loss. The rising star has had to deal with a great deal of pressure lately, and the Sixers will miss him if he doesn’t play.

Maxey was not at the team’s morning shootaround on Wednesday morning. If he can’t play, expect Patrick Beverley to step in.

Maxey is averaging 25.9 points and 6.4 assists while shooting 45% from the floor and 38% from deep. Without Embiid, De’Anthony Melton, Nic Batum, Robert Covington and possibly Maxey, the Sixers will have a stiff challenge on Wednesday night.
