Sixers two-way guard Mac McClung wins G League Player of the Week award

Philadelphia 76ers two-way player Mac McClung has been named the G League Player of the Week.

While the Philadelphia 76ers are focused on getting ready for the playoffs in this final stretch of the regular season, their young players down in the G League continue making some strides.

Mac McClung, who Philadelphia signed to a two-way deal shortly before the All-Star break and stole everybody’s attention at the slam dunk contest out in Utah, has been putting up big numbers for the Delaware Blue Coats down in the G League. Over his past three games, he’s averaging 28.7 points, 4.3 assists, and 1.7 rebounds as the Blue Coats have won three games in a row.

That type of production earned McClung the G League Player of the Week award as he continues to work toward an opportunity in the NBA.

On the season, McClung is averaging 18.5 points and 5.4 assists in the 2022-23 season with Delaware. He has shown off his electrifying game and it will be interesting if he ever does earn a shot with the Sixers in the future.
