The Philadelphia 76ers are moving forward in their offseason as they look to bounce back from a tough season on the floor. However, there are some good things that the team is doing off the floor.
Tobias Harris has been one of the top voices inside the bubble when it comes to social justice as he has been vocal when it comes to the movements going on in the world right now. He was also the leader in the Sixers social justice message while in Orlando so he has a lot of experience in that aspect.
As the league pushes their social justice messages forward, Harris is now a part of something bigger. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and The Stadium, he will be a player rep for the league’s social justice coalition formed by the NBPA.
Charania writes:
The NBPA has appointed players to serve on the committees for the NBA Foundation created in partnership with the league, as well as the new Social Justice Coalition formed alongside team governors and coaches when the players agreed to continue the season in late August amid the Jacob Blake shooting in Wisconsin.
Sacramento Kings forward Harrison Barnes and Philadelphia 76ers forward Tobias Harris will serve as player reps on the NBA Foundation.
This is a big movement for the league as they look to be a big part of what is going on in the world at the moment. It would give the movements the momentum needed to make some real change in the world. [lawrence-related id=38162,38154,38151]
