As the country continues to go through an important Civil Rights movement right now that has continued to be at the forefront since the summer, the national anthem is something that has been debated for a long time.
Dallas Mavericks governor Mark Cuban has instructed his team to stop the long-honored tradition of playing the anthem before a game. According to The New York Times, the Mavericks have not played the anthem before any of their 13 preseason and regular-season home games this season.
Cuban told The Times:
“It was my decision, and I made it in November,” Cuban said. He declined to comment further.
Philadelphia 76ers forward Tobias Harris has been a huge voice within the organization when it comes to social justice. He and Matisse Thybulle joined a Black Lives Matter protest over the summer and he praised Cuban as well as New Orleans Pelicans coach Stan Van Gundy for their stance on the matter.

Not everybody will agree with Cuban, but this is something that he feels is right, and the country will just have to move forward.
