The Philadelphia 76ers return home on Thursday looking to bounce back from yet another awful road loss on the season. In order to do so, they will have to take on the New York Knicks without both of their All-Star leaders.
Superstar big man Joel Embiid injured his left shoulder in the first quarter of Wednesday’s 108-94 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers and he will join point guard Ben Simmons on the sidelines.
Embiid left after playing just 7:36 injuring the shoulder late in the first. He went immediately to the locker room before briefly returning to the bench and making another trip back to the locker room. He is still undergoing evaluation on the shoulder.
Joel Embiid is out tonight vs. Knicks. More evaluation on left shoulder sprain ongoing, per source.

The Sixers are sitting at the 5 seed in the Eastern Conference and these injuries could not come at a worse time. They will need more out of the other big money guys out of their roster such as Al Horford, Tobias Harris, and Josh Richardson.
Tipoff from the Wells Fargo Cebter is set for 7:00 p.m. EST. [lawrence-related id=26612,26598,26589]
