Now is a team to give back to a community that needs it the most as everybody continues to work their way through the struggles of the pandemic and life as a whole for some.
The Philadelphia 76ers are stepping up in a big way as they plan on auctioning off game-worn sneakers of some of the franchise’s biggest stars, both current and former. The proceeds will go directly to serving the youth of Philadelphia and in Camden, NJ.
Beginning May 6-8, the Sixers will auction off shoes worn by Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid as well as the all-time greatest like Allen Iverson and Julius Erving. Bidders who are interested can go to the Sixers Youth Foundation website when the time comes so they can have their chance to get some Sixers history.
The #Sixers will launch a sneaker auction with game-worn sneakers from players, including @JoelEmbiid, @BenSimmons25 & @tobias31 & #HallofFamers @alleniverson & @JuliusErving next week. An announcement will be made Friday. Here’s a picture of Harris’ sneakers. @SIXERSSTRONG pic.twitter.com/0V9PeHj8KQ

Considering the other charitable efforts the Sixers have made, this is just another example of the team looking to help out their community.
