Sixers star Tyrese Maxey wins Eastern Conference Player of the Week

Philadelphia 76ers star Tyrese Maxey has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week.

The Philadelphia 76ers have had a whirlwind start to the season considering the James Harden saga. However, with Harden out, the opportunity for Tyrese Maxey has been beneficial for both him and the Sixers.

Maxey has been terrific to start the season. He is averaging 30.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists while shooting 56% from deep and getting to the foul line 7.7 times per game. He has helped the Sixers start 2-1 and their loss was by one point to the Milwaukee Bucks on the road.

For his efforts, Maxey took home Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors. Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic took home the honor for Western Conference Player of the Week.

Maxey and the Sixers will look to have Harden back at practice with them on Tuesday. The future Hall of Famer would still like to be traded which opens up more chances for Maxey, but having Harden there is still helpful for Philadelphia going forward.
