The Philadelphia 76ers did receive some kind of good news on Monday when they found out that Tyrese Maxey would be a participant in the 3-point shootout at All-Star weekend in Indianapolis on Feb. 17.
Maxey is shooting 38% from deep on the season following a 1-for-5 performance in Monday’s loss to the Dallas Mavericks. He and the Sixers had a tough offensive performance overall as they struggled to handle the pressure and the blitz the Mavs threw at them all night long.
Maxey will join the likes of Damian Lillard, Tyrese Haliburton, Donovan Mitchell, Jalen Brunson, and Lauri Markkanen in the 3-point shootout.

Maxey is the first Sixer to participate in the 3-point shootout since Kyle Korver in 2005 and 2004. He is also the sixth player in franchise history to participate joining Korver, Allen Iverson, Dana Barros, Hersey Hawkins, and Gerald Henderson.
None of the other five took home the 3-point contest title. Maxey will now try and get it done in Indianapolis.
