Sixers star Joel Embiid will play vs. Mavericks despite back soreness

Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid will play against the Dallas Mavericks despite his back soreness.

As the Philadelphia 76ers get set to return home and take on the Dallas Mavericks to begin a 3-game homestand, they have found out that they will at least have their star big man out on the floor with them in order to try and get a win.

Joel Embiid, who was listed as questionable for the second straight game for this matchup due to back soreness, went through his pregame routine on Friday and it was determined that he will play against the Mavericks.

At this point, the Sixers should probably rest Embiid in order to get him ready for the playoffs, but on the flip side, he needs all the time he can get in order to build chemistry with James Harden to compete in the postseason.

The Sixers and the Mavericks will tipoff at 7 p.m. EDT from the Wells Fargo Center. This will be the beginning of three games in four nights for Philadelphia.
