Sixers star Joel Embiid ranked as the 3rd best big man in the NBA

Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid comes in ranked as the 3rd best big man in the NBA.

Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid can do almost everything on the floor. He is an elite defender. He is the most dominant low post player in the league. And he can throw the Sixers on his back whenever he feels like it.

He also began taking nutrition and diet very seriously, and, as a consequence, he averaged 28.5 points and 10.6 rebounds on his way to finishing as the MVP runner-up in the 2020-21 season. He is regarded as one of the best players in the league regardless of position.

CBS Sports put together its list of the top 15 big men in the league and Embiid is near the top. The term big men encompasses both centers and power forwards. Embiid comes in ranked third on the list behind Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nikola Jokic, in order.

CBS Sports on Embiid:

Joel Embiid was arguably the most dominant player in the league last season, and there’s no reason not to expect the same from the Sixers big man during the upcoming campaign. He can do it all on the offensive end, and he’s also a top-tier defender at the center spot. Embiid was the runner-up for the MVP award last season, and as long as he can stay healthy and out on the court for Philly, he’ll be right back in that conversation again.

Embiid will have to play at MVP level again in the upcoming season to keep the Sixers relevant in the Eastern Conference race. There will be even more pressure on him to lead the way considering the Ben Simmons situation.
