It’s a new month in the NBA, which means it’s time to acknowledge what happened in the previous month and honor those who dominated.
Philadelphia 76ers star big man Joel Embiid had one of the best months anyone will ever have in December. He averaged a robust 35.4 points, 9.9 rebounds and 4.2 assists. He also shot 54.5% from the floor and 41.7% from deep to lead the Sixers to a 9-4 December record. He played in all 13 games.
That type of production resulted in Embiid being named the Eastern Conference Player of the Month for December. Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic won the award for the Western Conference as he had a similarly elite month.

Embiid and the Sixers are fifth in the Eastern Conference, one game behind the Cleveland Cavaliers. As the calendar flips to 2023, the Sixers want to keep moving up the standings.
