Amid all of the hysteria involving the acquisition of James Harden, the Philadelphia 76ers actually played a basketball game on Friday night. The Sixers were able to come away with a 100-87 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder as Tyrese Maxey had 24 points in a big effort.
Joel Embiid ended up leading the Sixers in scoring with 25 points and he pulled down 19 rebounds, but he shot only 8-for-25 from the floor and he had a sleeve on his right arm. It looked like it was bothering him all night as he had a tough time really getting into a rhythm.
Afterward, Embiid had a wrap on his right wrist and he addressed what was going on.
“It’s pretty swollen, but yeah,” said Embiid.
The Sixers did take on the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday at home, but the big fella isn’t sure if that was when he injured his hand or not.
“I honestly don’t know when it happened,” Embiid added. “I just woke up two days ago and my whole hand was pretty swollen. I’m not sure what happened.”
The Sixers take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday so it will be interesting to see how Embiid will play in that game as he continues getting ready for the postseason.
