Sixers star James Harden not expected to play vs. Thunder, Cavaliers

Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden is not expected to play against the Oklahoma City Thunder or the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Philadelphia 76ers acquired a brand new star on Thursday as they swung a huge deal to bring in Brooklyn Nets star James Harden and bring him to the City of Brotherly Love. As expected, fans are anxious for the debut of their new star, but it’s not going to come this weekend.

The Sixers will host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday and then the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday for the middle games of their 4-game homestand. While the deal is official, Harden is not expected to play in either game.

He will report to the team’s practice facility in Camden, NJ and he will be evaluated by the team’s medical staff before he can hit the court. Harden’s next opportunity to play would be Feb. 15 against the Boston Celtics.

Harden has been dealing with a hamstring issue so that makes a lot of sense as to why he is not yet ready to play. The Beard needs some time to be able to figure things out with his health before he can hit the floor again.
