Sixers star Ben Simmons is out vs. Kings due to left knee soreness

Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons will miss Saturday’s matchup with the Sacramento Kings.

The Philadelphia 76ers were already heading into Saturday’s matchup with the Sacramento Kings shorthanded as they were missing superstar Joel Embiid as well as sharpshooter Seth Curry. Now on top of that, the team will be missing another one of their starters and the other half of their star duo.

Ben Simmons will miss the matchup with Sacramento due to what the team is calling left knee soreness. He did participate in their shootaround on Saturday morning and he began experiencing the soreness after. It is obviously too much for him to handle against the quickness of Kings point guard De’Aaron Fox.

With Philadelphia in the midst of five games in seven nights and beginning a back-to-back, the Sixers will be cautious with him.

This will be a tough matchup to go out and get a win. The Kings have been playing good basketball and the Sixers will be down three starters including their star duo. They will need others to step up and play well in their absence.

Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. EST from Wells Fargo Center.
