As the Philadelphia 76ers move forward with their championship hopes under the guidance of coach Nick Nurse, they also took care of the man who has assembled the roster they currently have: Daryl Morey.
After hiring Morey to be their President of Basketball Operations in 2020, the Sixers have had a winning percentage of .653 despite the Ben Simmons saga as well as the James Harden saga. Morey has worked constantly to put the right pieces around superstar Joel Embiid and the Sixers are better off because of it.
Due to the success Morey has had with the Sixers, the team has decided to extend him through the 2027-28 season. His contract is now aligned with Nurse’s.

Morey helped Philadelphia earn its first No. 1 seed in 20 years in the 2020-21 season. Despite the Round 2 playoff failures of the past, the Sixers are obviously title contenders. It’s just all about getting it right in the playoffs.
