Sixers rookie Marial Shayok scores 19 off bench in Blue Coats win

Philadelphia 76ers rookie Marial Shayok led the Delaware Blue Coats to a win on Sunday.

The Philadelphia 76ers seemed to have unearthed a gem in the second round of the NBA Draft. Marial Shayok, the 54th overall pick in June’s draft, continues to impress for the team’s G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats.

Shayok scored 19 points off the bench on 9-for-18 shooting as well as grabbing six rebounds to lead the Blue Coats to a 109-83 win over the Lakeland Magic on the road on Sunday afternoon. He continues to show off an impressive offensive game that could earn him a real NBA chance in the very near future.

In other Sixers prospects news, Jonah Bolden had eight points, seven assists, and five rebounds while Shake Milton had 13 points. The Blue Coats overall were led by Xavier Munford who had 20 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

Local Philadelphia and Temple Owls product Shizz Alston Jr. played 11 minutes off the bench and had two points and three rebounds as he continues his NBA journey.

The Sixers have some more important business to attend to on the floor, but it’s always good to see their younger guys play well down in the G League and continue to develop. Delaware will play next on Tuesday when they host the Raptors 905. [lawrence-related id=20397,20389,20382]
