The Philadelphia 76ers have unearthed one rookie gem in Matisse Thybulle, but it seems that they have found another one in Marial Shayok.
While Thybulle has made himself a regular fixture in coach Brett Brown’s rotation, Shayok has made his mark with the team’s G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats. Shayok has been averaging 23.3 points and 5.4 rebounds in 25 games with Delaware and he has since earned some time with the Sixers recently.
That production down in Delaware has earned him a spot on the midseason Eastern Conference G League Team. He is one of 12 Eastern Conference players selected by G League coaches and general managers.

Shayok had a terrific start to the season as he averaged 35 points and 9.3 rebounds in games between November 8 and November 17 and that earned him the title of G League Player of the Week. In that stretch, Shayok scored 42 points against the Greensboro Swarm.
The Sixers will continue to grow as a team on the floor and allow Shayok to make strides slowly. His work in the G League can allow him to become a better player for the future. [lawrence-related id=25435,25424,25412]
