The Philadelphia 76ers acquired James Harden for a reason. That reason was to team up with Joel Embiid in order to lead the team to success and with the game on the line on Wednesday, Harden stepped up in the fourth quarter in support of Embiid to help the Sixers knock off the Cleveland Cavaliers 118-114 on the road.
Embiid finished with 35 points with 20 coming in the first half to help the Sixers get off to a good start and Harden scored 21 with nine coming in the fourth quarter to help the Sixers close it out.
The games were perfect because Embiid got the Sixers off to a good start–a real bugaboo for the team as of late–and Harden helped close it out from the perimeter. Philadelphia has been in need of somebody like that who can take over with the game on the line so this was an almost perfect scenario for the Sixers.
