We continue our look back at some of the more recent playoff performances in Philadelphia 76ers history with a look back at the 2018 playoff series against the Miami Heat. The Sixers returned home with a 3-1 lead and they had a chance to close it out at home.
Philadelphia leaned on their stars in the first four games of this series as Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons were having a terrific series, but to close it out, it is time for the veteran to step in and get the job done.
JJ Redick was brought in to give the Sixers some shooting and some veteran play and in Game 5 against the Heat, he provided just that. He poured in 27 points and he drilled five of his 10 shots from deep to lead Philadelphia to a 104-91 win over Miami to extinguish the Heat and move on to Round 2.
Redick, Simmons, and Embiid did a terrific job of getting the Sixers into Round 2 for the first time since 2012. They would eventually fall to the Boston Celtics in five tough games. [lawrence-related id=39068,39064,39047]
