The 2012 playoff version Philadelphia 76ers earned home-court advantage with a win in Game 2 over the Boston Celtics, but they then lost it in Game 3 at home. They then had to come up with a win in Game 4 to avoid a 3-1 hole before going back to Boston.
The Sixers got off to a rough start to the game as they trailed 18-3 early. They could not buy a bucket and the Celtics relied on Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett to get the job done. However, the scrappy Sixers worked their way back into it led by their veteran leaders, Andre Iguodala and Lou Williams.
Iguodala hit a couple of clutch 3-pointers down the stretch and he also included a stepback jumper as the Philadelphia crowd went wild. The 8 seed Sixers continued their surprising playoff run with a 92-83 win to tie the semifinals series up at 2-2 as Iguodala’s 16 points were a huge part in the win.
Iguodala had his moments in Philadelphia despite being his rocky reputation with the Sixers fans. He was asked to do a lot for this franchise after they traded away Allen Iverson and that wasn’t fair to him. At the end of the day, he was still a very good player in Sixers history.
