Sixers listed as a destination that makes sense for Pacers’ Buddy Hield

The Philadelphia 76ers are listed as a destination that makes sense for Indiana Pacers guard Buddy Hield.

With the season continuing to approach for the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA, there are always some moves that teams can make in order to bolster their rosters and their chances of winning a title.

For the Sixers, their roster is essentially set, but they also have to worry about the James Harden saga. The Beard, obviously, wants out so the Sixers have to figure out how to best handle that situation.

Shams Charania hopped on “The Rally” and mentioned the Sixers as a team that has been linked to Indiana Pacers sharpshooter Buddy Hield:

Any contending team — the Lakers were long-rumored for Buddy Hield — but you look at teams like Dallas, Philly, Milwaukee, I mean those are the types of teams that could definitely use a shooter like Buddy Hield. They’ve had a level of interest in him over the last several months, but of course no deal has happened yet.

HoopsHype also came up with a list of destinations that make the most sense to acquire Hield and the Sixers popped up on the list:

The Philadelphia 76ers could be looking at a significantly different starting lineup this year if they trade James Harden. Such a trade could feature multiple teams where the Sixers get back draft picks and players who can help them maximize their window around Joel Embiid. Hield would make a lot of sense for the Sixers as part of a multi-team deal that sends Harden to a preferred destination like the Los Angeles Clippers.

Hield, 30, attempted 8.5 3-pointers per game in the 2022-23 season and knocked them down at a 42.5% clip. He averaged 16.8 points per game and pulled down 5.0 rebounds while also improving as both a playmaker and a defender. That type of shooting prowess would fit perfectly next to Harden (if he decides to stay) and Joel Embiid as the Sixers move forward with their championship hopes.

Now, will the Sixers make a move for Hield? That remains to be seen. They have to take care of Harden first. Philadelphia has enough on its plate with that situation to be thinking about anything else at the moment.
