The Philadelphia 76ers have had plenty of legendary players come through in the franchise’s history. Players such as Julius Erving, Moses Malone, Allen Iverson, and others. All of them have been great players and made their impact on the franchise.
However, in terms of their overall career, there is one player who stands out above the rest and that is Wilt Chamberlain. He is not the best player in Sixers history in terms of Sixers impact, but in his overall career, he is at least in the top 10.
ESPN finished up their top 74 players in NBA history rankings on Wednesday with the top 10 and they ranked Chamberlain sixth in NBA history:
Chamberlain was truly ahead of his time. His numbers — including scoring an NBA-record 100 points in a single game and averaging 50 points per game for an entire season — are mythical. The only reason he doesn’t rank higher on lists of the all-time greats is he won “only” two NBA championships.
Chamberlain played 3.5 seasons in Philadelphia and he won the MVP award in all three of those full seasons. [lawrence-related id=30959,30965,30593]
