Sixers’ Joel Embiid suffered concussion, orbital fracture vs. Raptors, listed as out

Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid suffered an orbital fracture and a concussion against the Toronto Raptors and is listed as out.

As if tearing a ligament in his thumb wasn’t enough, Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid suffered another major injury in their Game 6 win over the Toronto Raptors.

Despite going for 33 points and 10 rebounds in the win to eliminate Toronto, Embiid did take a hard elbow to the face from Pascal Siakam late in that game. The big fella was holding his face after the hit and he was in an obvious amount of pain before coming out.

Now, Embiid has been diagnosed with an orbital fracture and a concussion and he is listed as out. The Sixers begin their semifinal series with the Miami Heat on Monday on the road and there is no timetable for his return.

Embiid has been playing through a lot of pain in these playoffs and now it just gets worse for him. As Philadelphia now prepares to take on Bam Adebayo and the Heat, not having Embiid is going to be a big issue for them.
