The Philadelphia 76ers will be represented at All-Star weekend in Salt Lake City on Feb. 19. Considering they are one of the top teams in the league, it was expected they would have somebody selected for the game.
On Thursday, the NBA announced the All-Star reserves for both the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference, and the Sixers will send Joel Embiid to Utah for All-Star festivities.
Embiid, who was snubbed when the starters were announced, is averaging 33.5 points and 10.1 rebounds to go along with 4.2 assists while leading the Sixers’ success.
James Harden is averaging 21.4 points, 11 assists and 6.4 rebounds, but he was not selected as an All-Star. This ends a streak of 10 straight appearances for him. The last time he missed the All-Star game was in 2012.

The Sixers have seven games before the All-Star break beginning with Friday’s matchup with the San Antonio Spurs. Philadelphia will use that time to continue to develop the Embiid-Harden pairing and prepare for the stretch run following the break.
